Nepal - Pokhara

Next day we left the homestay and headed further up into Nepal. The scenery became a bit more mountainous and much more green and lush than we had seen in India.

Many well built bridges across the
rivers.

We arrived in Pokhara by mid afternoon had a short walk around town. We were due to be up very early the following morning to see sunrise over the mountains, but I was a little confused as we couldn't really see much that was mountainous form the city.

In the morning we were up at 4am to drive the twisty windy road to the hill above the city, and from there you could definitely see the mountains! The Annapurna Range is world renowned and contains 3 mountains over 8000 meters that can be seen from the city itself.

Dawn came slowly, and the light was oddly from different angles, seeming to rise in a valley before later coming over the mountains further round. We were lucky that we got to see the mountains apparently, as it's not always the case, though later on in the day they disappeared into the cloud again.

Trump Mountain?

Later in the morning a bunch of us had opted to do some paragliding, and we headed back up the same hill to launch ourselves into the sky. An amazing experience with incredible views and even a Griffin Vulture or two!

The rest of the day was spent recovering from the early morning and the adrenaline rush of the flight, followed by two for one happy hour before dinner :-)
