Vegas Baby!

It's the last day of our tour and we end up in Vegas again. As there's no early start for most of us (though Lynda had to be on a bus to the airport at 5:50am), a few of us went to see The Strip, and take in a show.  'Ka' by Cirque du Soleil. It was amazing.  The set cost $150. Sorry, that should have said $150 thousand.

Who am I kidding? It was $150 MILLION!

The costumes were stunning.  The acrobatics and aerobatics were wonderful. The storyline was incomprehensible, but no-one really cared!

Yes, this bit was totally vertical.  See video below.

After being wow'd by the show, we hit the strip and wandered down to the Bellagio for some waterworks.

A quick visit to Caesar's Palace and The Venetian followed, including a quick Skype with Alexis and Simon outside the Venetian.  Alexis seemed rather curious about where I was, goodness knows what she thought!

Having been in a few of the casinos now (Golden Nugget, MGM, Caesar's, Venetian) I have to say they all seem much of a muchness.  Each one is a self-contained town with shops, restaurants, and entertainment. Each one is difficult to get out of, as they really don't like signposting where the doors are, and when you do find the exit, the doors look like they are leading you into a cupboard - so uninviting and dull.  It's such a weird place!

  1. Stayed at the Bellagio a few years ago, it's a really nice hotel, and the all you can eat restaurant was fantastic. The gambling halls are just strange though.

    1. Totally agree about the gambling. It was like looking at a completely alien culture and not comprehending it at all!
